Description
Hexagonal shaped nuts with internal screw threads. Finished hex nuts are one of the most common nuts used. Hex nuts have internal machine threads, for use with machine thread bolts and screws. ANSI B1.1 UNC and UNF Class 2B thread requirement. Grade 8. Yellow Zinc offers a modest amount of corrosion resistance, slightly higher than that of clear zinc.
Nut size (A.K.A. diameter) is the size bolt that the nut is used with. The same is true of the thread count. Thus a 1/4″-20 nut fits a 1/4″-20 bolt.
