Euroboor Cobalt 29 Pc Index Jobber Set
The Euroboor M35 Cobalt High Speed Steel Jobber drill set is ideal for drilling through cast iron and stainless steel. The 135° split point helps to eliminate tip walking, and increases hole accuracy. The unique flute design is superior for removing shavings and material from the hole. All bits above 3/16″ have a 3-flat shank for stability in any drill or chuck.

Cobalt drill bits are particularly suited for drilling through hard metals such as stainless steel and cast iron. This is due to the fact that the drill is made from a high strength steel alloy, with the addition of a minimum of 5% cobalt content. The cobalt doesn't just make the drill harder, it make it able to withstand higher temperatures from the friction caused by drilling through steel. It also helps to reduce the friction, so it stays cooler to begin with.
In addition, because the cobalt is part of the entire alloy, if the bit becomes dulled during use, it can be sharpened again and have the same properties as if it were new. Its extra hardness, heat tolerance, and friction reduction are not impacted. Other drill bits, even titanium bits, only have coatings to reduce friction and heat. Once that coating wears off they are just another drill bit.
