All Thread, Threaded Rod

All Thread, Threaded Rod

Threaded rod has continuous threading, either on both ends or it may extend along the complete length of the rod. It has no head or fashioned tip. Threaded rod can be used as an anchor bolt, clamp, hanger or U-bolt.
Threaded rod is available in carbon steel, as Plain, Zinc Plated and HDG, as well as Stainless Steel and the B7/A193 alloy.

Threaded rod has continuous threading, either on both ends or it may extend along the complete length of the rod. It has no head or fashioned tip. Threaded rod can be used as an anchor bolt, clamp, hanger or U-bolt.
Threaded rod is available in carbon steel, as Plain, Zinc Plated and HDG, as well as stainless steel and aluminum.

Plain
Basic carbon steel with no plating or treatment to increase strength or corrosion resistance. May have light coating of oil to inhibit rust formation. For interior uses where moisture is not an issue.
Zinc
Metal that is electro-plated with zinc (AKA electro-galvanized) to offer basic corrosion resistance. Zinc coating is shiny. Perfect for interior uses where a polished look is desired.
HDG
Unlike zinc plating, Hot Dipped Galvanized is a multi-stage treatment that infuses zinc into the outer layers of metal by dipping the object into a bath of melted zinc, hence the name. It offers considerable corrosion resistance, and is a perfect choice for outdoor uses.
B7
ASTM A193 B7 is an alloy which includes chromium and molybdenum for added strength and corrosion resistance. Tempering at 1100° F gives B7 a high tensile strength with greater ductility than comparative specifications. Threaded rod made with Grade B7 is suitable for applications that are highly susceptible to corrosion at high temperatures. For example, common uses are in chemical and petroleum facilities.
Stainless Steel
Whether it is 303, 304, or 316 grade, Stainless Steel provides the best corrosion resistance for steel All Thread. Stainless steel is a group of iron-based alloys that contain a minimum of approximately 11% chromium, a composition that forms a passive film and prevents the iron from rusting, as well as providing heat-resistant properties
Aluminum
Threaded rod made from aluminum is ideal when light-weight is an important consideration. And since it contains no iron, aluminum is non-magnetic and will not rust.
It is available by special order.
