Harry Chapin Food Bank

The holidays are well in our rear view now and Thread Source, Inc was, once again, able to provide our customers with an evening celebrating good friends, good food, good music and good will towards those less fortunate at our annual Customer Appreciation Christmas Party.

Homelessness is not a subject anyone likes to discuss. The statistics in Lee County are much better than other locations around the country. Current statistics indicate that homelessness is down considerably compared to last year, but we still have over 400 homeless. Lee County has six (6) homeless shelters and over 50 organizations/churches that feed or provide food for those in need. It isn’t just the homeless that need our help. There are thousands of people here in Lee County that are living at or below poverty level. They may have a roof over their heads, but not enough money to feed their family a nutritious meal.

Harry Chapin Food Bank can turn $1 into $8 worth of food. With that in mind, our cash contributions alone are worth $8,000! Just think how many people will benefit from this!

Attendance was well over 300 people this year and a good time was had by all. Music was provided by Head Count and they never let us down! The music was outstanding and lots of people took to the dance floor to show us their moves! In addition, Thread Source raffled lots of prizes throughout the evening.

To those of you who missed it…you missed a lot!!! Awesome prizes, delicious food, great music and an opportunity to be a part of something bigger…helping your community. We hope you will join us next year as we try and outdo ourselves again!
