Beam clamps provide structural attachment to the flange of metal beams, purlins, channel strut, or angle iron. Most commonly used to attach threaded rod used to support HVAC duct-work, lights, and other hardware in the open or closed ceiling space of a room. With its galvanized coating, this clamp can also be used in exterior or open building situations.

Because this beam clamp is electroplated with zinc, it is rust-resistant. It is an acceptable choice when doing work in open-air or exposed spaces. 

Also, with its shiny coating, some will prefer it for interior use over the plain finish, to match other visible metalwork in appearance.
