Malleable Wire Rope Clip, Galvanized

Wire rope clips are fittings used to make an eye or join two cable or wire rope ends together. This design of wire rope clip is available to handle wire rope or strand sizes ranging from 1/16" - 1-1/8". Malleable wire rope clips are used in light duty & general purpose applications while drop forged wire rope clips are recommended for overhead lifting applications. Each malleable wire rope clip is zinc plated according to federal specification FF-C-450 D, TYPE 1, CLASS 2.

The correct way to attach wire rope clips is as follows:

1. Apply the first clip one base width from the dead end of the wire rope. The base or saddle should bear on the line end of the rope - U-bolt on the short end. Tighten nuts firmly.
2. Attach second clip as close to ends of thimble inside the loop as possible. Tighten nuts but not firmly.
3. Attach balance of clips spaced equally between first two clips. Tighten all nuts completely.
4. Apply initial load - inspect nuts and re-tighten. Inspect all clips periodically.
